ΑΡΧΑΪΚΑ ΣΤΟΙΧΕΙΑ ΣΤΟ ΓΛΩΣΣΙΚΟ ΙΔΙΩΜΑ ΤΗΣ ΙΜΒΡΟΥ (SYMMARY)

ARCHAIC ELEMENTS IN THE LINGUAL IDIOM OF IMVROS
The purpose of this essay is to present the more important archaic elements that exist in the lingual idiom of Imvros. This idiom, which is count among the ‘north idioms’ of Greek Language, is composed of common and also idiomatic elements. The firsts offer the similarities that exist between this idiom and the Greek Language and the seconds discern it from all other idioms and dialects. These idiomatic elements come from latin, medieval, turkish, e.t.c. but they mainly originate from Ancient Greek.
We severed the essay in two (2) parts: the Morpho – Phonological and the Semantic (Vocabulary) part. In the first category there are elements which are maintained unchangeable and others which are changed from Ancient Greek to Imvrian Idiom. In the second category the words can also be distinguished in directs and indirects in proportion with the manner of their origin. Finally, the indirects can be discerned in total and partial words.
The conclusions and the results which follow this kind of essay are, we think, very useful and important: it (this essay) proves the language competence and creativity of Imvrians and all people generally, it presents clearly the language continuity between the Imvrian Idiom and the Ancient Greek and it conduces to the study of Greek Language history.
